Ms. Naome Wandera has over 23 years’ experience in the field of international development. A global award winner for the 2017 Global award winner: World Bank development market place innovations to address gender-based violence, Naome is recognized for contributing to innovations to prevent gender-based and sexual violence as well as advance women’s economic empowerment through strengthening evidence generation for effective solutions.
Trained a Quantitative Economist and Demographer, Ms. Wandera has provided technical assistance to multiple organizations in Africa and or their headquarters in Europe and United States; facilitating partner processes to design and implement evidence generation as well as translate insights into actions. She has built technical relationships with relevant government ministries and departments.
Ms. Wandera is based out of Uganda and serves as The Deputy Director, Africa at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), a gender focused research organization she joined in 2016. An experienced researcher, she leads multiple intersectional research generation, dissemination and uptake efforts. She is Fluent in English and Swahili.
